sleep

  • Rooms are divided between three sections: Ambassador, Zen, and Grand Class.
  • All rooms are large "suites" (1,100+ sq ft), but they are all one room. You’ll need to book connecting rooms or a two-bedroom suite if you want door separation.
  • Ambassador rooms are best for families, as they are beachfront and by the main pool.
  • Zen rooms are tucked back and have jungle views. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the beach, but most guests take the resort-provided shuttle instead (runs 24/7).
  • Zen rooms feel a bit dated and dark. But the two-queen rooms also have a sofa bed and can easily fit a family of 5 (they’ll sometimes even allow 6 if the kids are small).
  • Grand Class rooms are the nicest and largest; while kids are allowed, this area is more adult-oriented (kids are not allowed at the Grand Class pool, beach, or restaurants).

play

  • Kids Club (ages 4–12) and Teens’ Club (ages 12–18) are free and well run, with indoor and outdoor activities. The space was renovated in 2025 and feels new and fresh.
  • The Kids Club stays open until 11pm if you want a kid-free date night.
  • Babysitting is available for kids of all ages and is highly rated. If you’re booking a babysitter for multiple days, they will try to match you with the same one each day.
  • The pools in the Ambassador and Zen sections have shallow areas that are great for kids.
  • There’s an adults-only pool and beach in the Grand Class section.
  • The beach is fine, but nothing special. They generally do a good job staying on top of the sargassum.
  • Service is great — staff is friendly, helpful, and wonderful with kids. They’ll often leave little toys or surprises in the room for your kids.

eat

  • One of the strongest food programs you’ll find at a family-friendly all-inclusive. They even have a Michelin-starred restaurant (Cocina de Autor).
  • Dinner reservations are highly recommended; they open 30 days out, and the best times go fast.
  • Restaurants in the Grand Class section (Cocina de Autor, Piaf, Bistro) are for ages 12+ only (so send your kids to the Kids Club or get babysitters!).
  • Plenty of kid-friendly options at buffets and casual restaurants, with flexibility for picky eaters.
  • The coffee shop on site makes it easy to grab caffeine or a light snack. It opens at 7am. Room service is available 24/7 if you need food earlier than 7am.
  • Unlike at most all-inclusives, cocktails are made with top-shelf spirits.
