- The Chateau and The Grand Lodge are centrally located and connected by indoor walkways — both were recently renovated (2024 and 2023). These rooms come with butler service.
- Washington Townhomes are a bit dated, but great for families needing extra space and kitchens. They're right across from the animal enclosures (lions, tigers, wolves).
- There are a number of houses available to rent; Dogwood (6 bedroom) is the largest.
- Request the resort shuttle through the Nemacolin app to get around (usually comes quickly, but not always).
- Falling Rock is adults-only (16+).

- Activities are the main draw at Nemacolin — name it and they probably offer it (sports, golf, tennis, swimming, art, climbing, horseback riding, zoo animals, playground, dog sledding, skiing, ice skating, historic airplane hanger, auto museum.... you get the idea!).
- The kids club (age 4-12) is open daily and has daytime and evening sessions; reservations are required 24-hours in advance.
- The heated outdoor pool and lazy river at The Peak are open year-round, making for a fun and unique winter swim. There's also a huge hot tub and outdoor TV.
- The indoor family pool is located inside the entrance to the kids club (but you don't have to be signed up for kids club to go).
- Kids must be 55" tall to go on a trail ride; younger kids can do a pony ride (note: the "pony" rides take place on horses and are only for kids comfortable being led without a parent by their side).
- The arcade is small (just three games).
- A great place to try skiing or ice skating for the first time (rental gear and beginner lessons are available).
- The Hardy Gym is a great indoor activity area.
- Some activities must be reserved in advance and many are an extra charge (and aren't cheap).

- Gusto (new Italian spot near The Peak) is beautiful and a great choice for families.
- Breakfast at Fawn and Fable is pricey (except for kids under 5, who eat free) and the food is just okay. Dinner is better.
- The Peak has a casual dining option, located upstairs.
- Only one coffee shop on-site (in The Chateau), so expect a line in the morning.
- PJ’s Ice Cream Parlor is a guaranteed hit with kids.
- Room service is available, or you can order takeout from any of the restaurants.
- Falling Rock restaurants do not allow kids under 16.
