sleep

  • Standard rooms come with either one king or two double beds and have garden, city, or courtyard views. Rollaways are allowed in king rooms.
  • 77 of the 273 guest rooms are suites.
  • Executive suites include a door between the bedroom and living room, plus a sofabed.
  • The State Suite can be converted into a two-bedroom setup.
  • Some suites have French doors between the bedroom and living room. These have frosted glass or curtains and should still work for families.
  • Only the Royal Suite (the most expensive) has outdoor space — plus a kitchen and small movie theater.
  • Note: There are two Four Seasons in Boston. This one (on Boylston Street) is more family-focused, was renovated in 2023, and sits right by the park. Dalton Street’s property is newer and also has family amenities, but feels more adult/business-travel focused.

play

  • The staff is great with kids.
  • Kids are welcome at (and will love) the indoor pool. It’s on the 8th floor with great views of the Boston Public Garden. They even provide noodles and kickboards.
  • At check-in, kids get access to the Mystery Closet to choose a small welcome gift (think toys or coloring books).
  • There’s a hotel-wide scavenger hunt — just ask the front desk. Kids get a small prize at the end.
  • This hotel makes a great home base for exploring Boston: close to the Public Garden, Boston Common, the Freedom Trail, playgrounds, and duck boat tours.
  • There's no kids club, but the hotel can arrange babysitting.

eat

  • The coffee shop opens at 6 AM on weekdays (6:30 AM on weekends) and offers free beverages (including hot chocolate and babyccinos), plus grab-and-go breakfast items (for purchase). There’s a “coffee concierge” who can deliver drinks to your room if you’d rather not drag the kids to the lobby (or need something before you’ve had a chance to get dressed).
  • If you want a sit-down breakfast, Aujourd’hui is on the second floor with floor-to-ceiling views of the Public Garden. It does not have a buffet.
  • Coterie serves lunch and dinner. Make a reservation for dinner. The kids menu has the classics (like steak) alongside more refined options.
  • The Vault on each floor has free snacks for kids — think M&Ms, Swedish Fish, popcorn, nuts, and sparkling waters. Kids go wild for it (maybe too wild).
  • You can get room service delivered to the pool from 7:30 AM to 8 PM.
  • “The Sanctuary” is an outdoor courtyard where families can dine al fresco. You place an order from the room service menu in a vintage phone booth — kids love it.
  • They can pack a picnic for you to enjoy in the park.
  • There are tons of walkable restaurants nearby.
