- All rooms are modern and clean, with large windows and outdoor space.
- Residence Suites are ideal for families, offering spacious layouts, connecting accommodations, and a shared butler for each building. They are a bit further away from the main pool and lobby, but still walkable (or, you can take a golf cart).
- Junior Suites and Suites have a sofa that could sleep a kid and a plunge pool.
- Garden Junior Suites are a bit dark.
- If you need two bedrooms, opt for connecting rooms or the Presidential Villa.
- Plunge pools aren't heated and can get chilly.
- Private Villas are beautiful, and come with a personal butler, but don’t allow kids under 6.
- Ocean Suites are adults-only (18+).
- Overall this is a very aesthetically pleasing resort — it feels fresh, even though it opened in 2013.

- The kids club is open daily from 9am–5pm for ages 4–12, with a mix of indoor and outdoor activities. Babysitting is also available and gets good reviews.
- The main family pool is pretty deep (about 5 ft). If you need a shallow pool, you'll need to use the kid pool by the kids club.
- The ocean at the family beach is very calm and shallow — great for babies and toddlers. The beach also gets less sargassum than most resorts in the area.
- Zayaking (combo kayaking and snorkeling) is a fun way to explore while staying mostly dry. You can also kayak, paddleboard, or snorkel.
- Tennis courts are vailable with private instruction (extra fee).
- The spa is a highlight — definitely worth arranging childcare so you can enjoy it. There's also an adults only pool and beach.

- Food is not included and can be pricey.
- Six restaurants serve Mexican, Peruvian, Asian, Mediterranean, and international cuisines. They're all tasty.
- Sit outside at Terra Nostra for a great view.
- La Punta Grill is adults-only (15+).
- There’s a dedicated kosher kitchen.
- Breakfast buffet is easy and well-liked by families.
