sleep
- This is a gorgeous property. They preserved the historic Surf Club and added modern glass-and-steel towers — and it works.
- 77 guest rooms, 25 residential-style suites, and a standalone beach villa. Connecting rooms are limited.
- All rooms except the Surf Club Room have a balcony.
- 1–4 bedroom residential-style suites include full kitchens.
- Ocean view rooms are worth prioritizing. They have floor-to-ceiling windows and large terraces, perfect for when kids are napping or sleeping.
- Bungalow rooms are unique — they’re located on the second floor of the historic “Cabana Row” (not in the modern towers like most other rooms) and have several doors that fully open to the outside. They only have a king bed, so are best for families with a baby or toddler.
play
- Kids for All Seasons (ages 4–12) is complimentary. It’s located at the base of the Residences and includes an indoor play area.
- Three heated guest pools: family pool, adults-only quiet pool, and cabana pool. A fourth pool is for residents only. Pool floats are available for kids.
- You can rent one of 40 enclosed cabanas by the cabana pool, complete with a full bathroom. They are spread across two levels.
- There’s a lawn next to the pool where kids can run around, with a small soccer goal and lawn games.
- If you have babies or toddlers, look for the mini kids’ cabana.
- 900-foot beachfront with dedicated beach service. It’s fairly quiet since you’re north of the bustle of South Beach.
- They have adult-sized bikes you can borrow and can assist with renting kid-sized bikes. The beachside bike path can be busy for younger kids, but it works well for older ones.
- Private swim lessons are available and well reviewed by families.
- The concierge can arrange babysitting.
eat
- Dining skews sophisticated and design-forward, but kids are welcome at all restaurants.
- Lido Restaurant + Terrace serves Italian cuisine. Breakfast begins at 7:00am.
- The Surf Club Restaurant (Thomas Keller) holds a Michelin star. Dinner only; reservations recommended. Dining outside in the Banyan Room is a great option for families.
- Winston’s on the Beach offers casual dining near the family pool. A gelato cart operates 11am–6pm daily.
- Champagne Bar serves cocktails and coffee; live music runs on select winter weekends.
- 24-hour in-room dining is available.
- There are lots of great restaurants a short walk or easy Uber ride away.
- Kids ages four and under eat free at Lido Restaurant and Winston’s On The Beach.
