Why I Started Hotels With Kids

It started with childhood trips I'll never forget.

Some of my clearest memories came from travel — the thrill of a hotel room key, splashing in a new pool, making new friends, exploring somewhere unfamiliar with my family.

I've loved travel ever since.

Over the years, while building my career as a tech executive, I became the go-to trip planner for friends and family. I've spent countless hours researching destinations, building itineraries, and — most of all — obsessing over hotels. Luxury resorts, boutique gems, quirky finds, even a well-placed chain.

Having kids didn't change that.

My husband and I have three little kids, and we've stayed committed to traveling as a family. It's not always easy, but it's always worth it. Some of our most joyful, chaotic, unforgettable memories have happened on the road. I love seeing how excited my kids get walking into a new hotel room — sprinting off the elevator, fighting over who gets to use the room key.

But, having kids did make every booking a research project.

Finding hotels meant scrolling through 47 TripAdvisor reviews to find out if the pool had a shallow end. Calling properties directly to ask if the crib would fit in the closet. Cross-referencing kids club age requirements across multiple websites. Endlessly scrolling Instagram tags to find evidence of families who had actually been there with kids. What used to take an hour now took an entire weekend.

I decided to channel that research obsession and create the resource I wished existed.

I left my job in tech, became a certified travel advisor, and launched Hotels With Kids in 2025 to help parents confidently find hotels that make traveling with children easier and more fun. The site is curated, thoughtfully organized, and built around filters that matter to families.

I've personally visited many of the hotels featured, and every listing has been thoroughly researched and vetted. We're not just focused on the obvious family favorites like Disney resorts (which can be great too!), but also unexpected options — boutique design hotels, golf resorts, glamping sites, or luxury properties you wouldn't assume are kid-friendly... but actually are.

Whether you're traveling with a baby, toddler, or big kid, I want to help you find a place that feels exciting, easy, and fun for your whole family. Because travel is an investment — in time, in money, in energy — and parents are short on all three.
