sleep
- Beautiful cabins with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and outside decks.
- Knoll Cabins, with forest and lake views, are recommended for families — they include a sofa that folds out into a bed for kids.
- All cabins are one-room, so if you need a door separating you from your kids, this won’t work for you.
- Hideaway Cabins are not recommended — they are tiny and have a shared bathhouse instead of a private bathroom.
- Cabins are intentionally screen-free: no TVs or phones. Wi-Fi is available and can be turned off.
- Rooms do not have bathtubs.
play
- This is a great spot for active families in the summer, but some kids may get a bit bored in the winter.
- Prospect Lake is the star: families can swim or borrow Sunfish sailboats, stand-up paddleboards, and kayaks. Fishing, rowing, and sailing lessons are available for an extra fee.
- Seasonal outdoor saltwater pool with shade (no shallow end).
- Land adventures include tennis, pickleball, hiking, and biking.
- The general store lends easels and paints, and there are guided experiences such as bass fishing, sailing, birding, and foraging walks.
- Evenings bring movie nights on the lawn, plus live jazz at the pool.
- No kids’ club or babysitting service.
- A forest jungle gym and arts-and-crafts corner are planned; in the meantime, bring board games and enjoy the open lawns and nature.
eat
- Cliff House restaurant overlooks the lake and serves locally sourced cuisine with mountain views. Dinner is offered Wednesday through Sunday from 5 pm.
- Free continental breakfast is set out at Cliff House from 8am (with a more substantial breakfast offered on weekends).
- The shop at the front of Cliff House food for picnics.
- There's a snack bar by the pool, open seasonally.
- Free s’mores kits available for the firepits.
- No room service.
- 10-minute drive to Great Barrington for family-friendly restaurants and groceries.
