sleep
- This is a beautiful property with lush grounds. It was renovated in 2024.
- All rooms are either suites or villas. Every suite has a separate bedroom and living room with a sleeper sofa, accommodating a family of 5.
- All rooms have sizable lanais (balconies) and large bathtubs. There’s an option of 1 king bed or 2 double beds in the bedroom, and a variety of view categories.
- Poolside suites give you easy access to walk out to the pools.
- Rollaways can be added to suites (extra charge).
- There are free laundry machines on most floors (detergent is available for purchase in the on-site market).
- Villas (2–3 bedrooms with kitchens, plunge pools, and laundry) are great for larger families. They are close to the ocean and are either oceanfront (first row) or ocean view (second row). Most villas are 2 stories tall, but they do have an accessible option.
- Villas have a large walk-in closet that can fit a crib.
play
- The pool complex, with a 140-foot waterslide, is a hit with kids. There are three pools in total: two family pools and one adults-only.
- The family pools get busy, and there is more seat-saving than there should be at a luxury resort.
- There’s a separate shallow keiki (kids) pool for babies and toddlers.
- Polo Beach is calm, has very soft sand, and is less crowded than the beach at neighboring resorts.
- There is currently no kids club. Babysitting is available through a recommended third party.
- Cultural programming includes outrigger canoe rides (age 10+), ukulele lessons, koi pond feedings, and stargazing.
- Golf and tennis are available at the nearby Wailea Golf Club and Wailea Tennis Club (5-minute drive; the courtesy car can take you there).
- The resort connects to the Wailea coastal path (stroller-friendly), making it easy to walk to other hotels and explore.
- Staff is warm, friendly, and helpful.
eat
- The breakfast buffet gets great reviews. It’s expensive, but free if you book through us!
- The on-site restaurants are good and have ocean views, but are fairly upscale.
- Makana Market opens at 6am. It's great for early coffee, quick breakfasts and lunches, and snacks.
- Room service runs 6am to 10pm.
- Kids 5 and under eat free off the kids menu. Kids 6–12 get 50% off adult meals (applicable at Kō, Pilina, Kea Lani Restaurant, and AMA Bar & Grill — restaurant only, not poolside dining).
- If you’re staying in a villa, they can stock your fridge for you.
- If you’re staying a week, you’ll likely want to leave the property for more dining variety.
